AI religion

I don’t think I published it, but after seing Dune, I was thinking about the concept of “engineered religion”.

It’s a very interesting concept, the idea you can have a science of religion.

It’s doable, you can study people, what words have effect on them, what are the effects, etc.

Anyway, there are multiple ideas associated with this 2 words.

Let’s review them:

• Human religion about AI

• AI lead religion

• Using AI for religion

• AI religion by AI

Human religion about AI

I think we will observe cults and religions refocusing, some of them, on AI.

You can argue that AI will have god-like powers at some point.

It’s been written before, I’m thinking of the Commonwealth saga, were one of the character is considering the AI to be god-like.

AI lead religion

A religion does a few things.

But mostly, it write things and spread them.

Which, an AI could very easily do.

Using AI for religion

This is the simpler form of the previous example.

I was actually wondering about that.

Sometimes, you lack ideas about what to write etc Maybe write sermons.

An AI could do that for you.

AI religion by AI

If at some points there are multiple AIs, maybe they will have their own religion.

I don’t know what form it would take.

But, why not ?

Conclusion

I think AI is going to “revolutionize” religion, to a degree.

It’s gonna be easier to create a cult, particularly an online cult.

It’s gonna get easier to scam people.

Maybe counter AIs will be created to help people make rational decisions though.
